Jan Hijzelendoorn sr. (Born November 17, 1904 in Amsterdam ; † November 3, 1974 there ) was a Dutch cyclist and national champion in cycling .

Athletic career

Jan Hijzelendoorn sr. (with full name Johannes Antonius Jacobus) won the championship in the sprint of amateurs in the Netherlands in 1924 . In 1928 and 1929 he started as an independent mainly in road races , but without any major successes and ended his career in favor of his professional activity.

Familiar

His son Jan Hijzelendoorn jr. was also a cyclist and track sprinter . His grandson Jan Hijzelendoorn was a baseball player and a member of the Dutch national team.
