Jan Holenda (born August 22, 1985 in Prague ) is a Czech football player . The striker is currently under contract with Viktoria Plzen .

Club career

Holenda began playing football at Sparta Prague, where he was taken over in January 2003 by the A youth team in the B team, which played in the 2nd division . In a year and a half, the striker played 34 second division games in which he scored two goals. In the 2004/05 season he was loaned to the then first division club FK Drnovice , for which he scored five goals in 25 games.

In the summer of 2005 he moved to Slovan Liberec , again on loan, although he had already trained for ten days at the neighboring club FK Jablonec , and had agreed there. In Liberec , Holenda had 31 appearances and six goals by the end of 2006.

He was then told to look for a new club, whereupon the attacker, still under contract with Sparta Prague, went to České Budějovice . At SK Dynamo there , he was not in top form and only scored one goal in eleven games. In the summer of 2007 he returned to his parent club Sparta Prague. There he only played one league game and was loaned to FK Siad Most at the end of September . During the winter break, the striker returned to Sparta Prague.

Holenda moved in January 2010 to Russian first division promoted Anzhi Makhachkala .

Jan Holenda played for all Czech junior national teams with the exception of the U17 and U20. For the U21 team, he scored one goal in 14 games between 2006 and 2007.
