Jan Holthuis

Jan Holthuis (born June 12, 1950 in Hilten , today Neuenhaus ) is a Bremen politician ( SPD ) and was a member of the Bremen Parliament .

education and profession

After Holthuis graduated from high school in Nordhorn in the Grafschaft Bentheim district in 1969 , he studied Protestant theology at the universities of Münster and Kiel from 1969 to 1974 . In 1974 he passed the first and in 1976 the second theological state examination. Then he was a Protestant Reformed pastor in Emden , Schwabach and Simonswolde near Aurich . He has been a pastor in Bremen since 1996. Since joining the citizenry, he has been on leave as a pastor for the time of his membership.

politics

Holthuis joined the SPD in 1969. There he was, among other things, JuSo sub-district chairman of the Bentheim district, member of the Lower Saxony state committee, member of the AStA and the Senate of the University of Münster and was a member of the SPD state executive in Bremen for two years. He is currently the first chairman of the SPD local association Bremen-Innenstadt, subdistrict and state delegate, speaker of the committee for international affairs at the state executive committee of the SPD Bremen and the forum Eine Welt.

On November 14, 2006, he became a member of the Bremen Citizenship and was represented on the Petitions Committee and the State Deputation for Science. At the end of the electoral term, he left in 2007.
