Jan Kirchmayr

Jan Kirchmayr (born August 25, 1993 in Basel ; legal resident in Aesch BL ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ).

Life

Jan Kirchmayr completed his kindergarten and primary school years in Aesch, he also attended level P at the secondary school Aesch. After compulsory schooling, he went to the Münchenstein high school with a focus on music. In December 2012 he graduated from high school . He then worked for a year and a half as a community service provider at the Reinach primary school as a teaching assistant. Since September 2014 he has been studying geography and history at the University of Basel . He completed his bachelor's degree in summer 2018. Now he is at his master’s degree and at the teacher training. Kirchmayr also works as a teacher at a secondary school in Basel. He lives in Aesch.

politics

Kirchmayr joined the SP and JUSO Baselland in 2011 . From 2013 to 2015 he was co-president of JUSO Baselland together with Samira Marti . In September 2014, he moved up to the Aesch community commission. In February 2015 Kirchmayr ran unsuccessfully for the Basel district administrator ( cantonal parliament ), but achieved the place as the second successor. Finally, in the summer of 2016, he was able to move up to the district administrator for his mother Christine Koch . At the age of 23 he was its youngest member. Since then, he has been a member of the district building and planning committee. In the district administrator, he deals with educational policy issues, issues of spatial planning, the environment and transport policy. Kirchmayr was re-elected in the district elections on March 31, 2019. He achieved the best result of all candidates in the Reinach-Aesch-Pfeffingen constituency with 2,203 votes. Nationwide, he achieved the fourth-best result of all candidates.

Kirchmayr has also been President of SP Aesch-Pfeffingen since 2018, takes a seat on the management of SP Baselland and is on the board of the Basel Transport Club.

In addition to his mother Christine Koch, his father is also politically active, Klaus Kirchmayr is the leader of the Greens in the district administrator.
