Jan Kleski

Jan Kleski (born March 23, 1860 in Werbiąż Wyżni (ukr. Верхній Вербіж) near Kolomyja ; † January 19, 1934 ibid) was a member of the Galician Landtag from 1908 to 1914 , and the XII from 1911 to 1918. Legislative period of the Austrian Chamber of Deputies and 1919 to 1922 of the Polish Constituent National Assembly (Sejm Ustawodawczy).

Jan Kleski studied law at the universities in Vienna and Chernivtsi . He was the landowner of Werbiąż, mayor of Kolomyja and long-time marshal of the powiat Kolomyja. In 1922 he applied unsuccessfully to the Polish Sejm and Senate . In the Second Polish Republic sponsored the building of some schools and chapels.
