Jan Koetsier
Jan Koetsier [ kuˈtsiːɾ ] (born August 14, 1911 in Amsterdam , † April 28, 2006 in Munich ) was a Dutch conductor and composer .
Life
In 1950 Koetsier went to the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra as first conductor . Jan Koetsier wrote chamber music , orchestral and choral works as well as the opera “Frans Hals”. From 1966 to 1976 he was at the University of Music and Theater in Munich, where he led the conducting class. One of the few recordings of his mass (Missa in honorem Sancti Antonii de Padua) comes from the chamber choir of the Pestalozzi Gymnasium in Munich.
A Jan Koetsier Foundation was set up at the university in 1999, which, among other things, organizes the International Jan Koetsier Competition.
Koetsier lived for 30 years (1976–2006) in Rattenkirchen , Mühldorf am Inn district . He died at the age of 94.
