Jan Lennartsson (born September 22, 1981 in Västerås / Sweden ) is a Swedish handball player . His body length is 1.87 m. Lennartsson is married and has one daughter.

Lennartsson, who last played for the Danish club AaB Håndbold (shirt number 7) and for the Swedish national team (shirt number 9), is mainly used as a right winger.

Jan Lennartsson started playing handball in his hometown at IVH Västerås. He later moved to the top club IK Sävehof in Gothenburg , where he made his debut in the Swedish first division in 2000. There he won the Swedish championship in 2004, 2005 and 2006. In 2007 he moved on to Denmark, where he joined AaB Håndbold from Aalborg . With AaB Håndbold he won the Danish championship in 2010 and 2013. After winning the championship in 2013, he returned to his homeland.

Jan Lennartsson has played 125 caps for the Swedish national team so far . With Sweden he also took part in the 2008 European handball championship in Norway, but was eliminated in the main round after his team failed in the last game against Germany .

Jan Lennartsson is enrolled at the University of Gothenburg for mathematics, specializing in the analysis of weather statistics, and was most recently preparing for his doctoral thesis. His studies are suspended during his stay in Denmark.
