Jan Nagy

Jan Nagy (born April 12, 1945 in Sered in western Slovakia ) is a former Czechoslovak weightlifter .

life and work

Nagy was the only boy and the second of five children of the uranium mines operating drivers and skilled baker in the western Slovakia born. In 1976 he became a member of the Czechoslovak Olympic team at the Olympic Games in Montreal and finished there on July 27, 1976 the 4th place in the super heavyweight in weightlifting (+105 kg) (TCH 160.0 227.5 387.5). At the beginning of 1976 he reached his unofficial / personal record weight of 245 kg. On November 26, 1976, his official record weight was finally set at 242.5 kg

In 1980 he emigrated to Germany with his Prague- born wife and two children. From 1980 to 2000, the father of three children lived and worked as a lathe operator and as a commissioned draftsman with a focus on portraits in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria .

The "strongest Czechoslovak of all time" has lived in Karlsbad in the Czech Republic since 2001 and is increasingly devoting himself to his artistic work in the art of drawing .
