Jan Ross

Jan Roß (* 1965 in Hamburg , partly also Jan Ross ) is a German journalist and author .

Roß studied classical philology, philosophy and rhetoric in Hamburg and Tübingen. He then worked as a research assistant at the Department of Philosophy at the Free University of Berlin . From 1991 to 1996 he was an editor in the features section of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung . Since 1998 he has been editor of the weekly newspaper Die Zeit , where he coordinates foreign policy reporting. He is currently a foreign correspondent with an office in India.

Ross is Protestant; However, he has mainly dealt with Catholicism in books and wrote a biography about Pope John Paul II , which has also been translated into Polish. He is sometimes referred to as a "Christian book author". His first book publication was a "pamphlet against vulgar liberalism".
