Kolinovce (until 1946 Slovak "Kolinovce"; German Kohldorf , Hungarian Kolinfalva - until 1907 Kolinfalu - to 1892 Kolinóc ) is a municipality in the east of Slovakia with 579 inhabitants (December 31, 2019) and is part of the Spišská Nová Ves District , a part of the Košický kraj , as well as the traditional Spiš landscape .
geography
The municipality is located in the southeast part of the Hornádska kotlina basin on both sides of the Hornád , between the Branisko Mountains north and the Slovak Ore Mountains south of the river. In the village, the Hornád takes up the Studenec brook . The center of the village lies at an altitude of 389 m nm and is two and a half kilometers from Krompachy and 24 kilometers from Spišská Nová Ves .
Neighboring municipalities are Kaľava in the north, Krompachy in the east and south and Spišské Vlachy in the west.
history
Kolinovce bears the name of a writer from Göllnitz and was first mentioned in writing in 1312 as villa Colinii . At that time the place was part of the Bund of the Spiš Saxons and was the location of a toll station belonging to the Spiš Castle . In 1409 Sigismund von Luxemburg donated the village to the parish of Wallendorf (today Spišské Vlachy). In the 18th century Kolinovce was part of the Wallendorf possessions. In 1880 there were 58 houses and 360 inhabitants, who mainly worked in the Krompachy ironworks and on the railway.
Until 1918 the place in Zips County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, Kolinovce had 577 inhabitants, including 531 Slovaks , 19 Roma and three Czechs . Two residents stated a different ethnic group and 22 inhabitants did not provide any information on the ethnic group.
427 residents committed themselves to the Roman Catholic Church, six residents to the Greek Catholic Church, five residents to the Orthodox Church, three residents to the Evangelical Methodist Church and two residents to the Jehovah's Witnesses; one resident professed a different denomination. 88 residents had no denomination and the denomination of 45 residents was not determined.
