The municipal office

Bystřany (German Wisterschan , Czech earlier Horušďany ) is located two kilometers southeast of Teplitz at the foot of Mount Doubravka ( Teplice Castle Hill ) in the Czech Republic .

history

The first written record comes from 1238, when it was a Slavic settlement called Horušďany. The village belonged to the Ossegg monastery , which gave it to the Lords of Hrabischitz . Wisterschan is mentioned for the first time at the beginning of the 16th century. The actual development took place in the second half of the 19th century when the village was industrialized. In 1864, Karl Grohmann set up a dye works for Turkish cloths . In 1905 a wool weaving mill was added, later a brickworks, mill and steel mill.

• Bystřany ( Wisterschan )
• Nechvalice ( Nechwalitz ) belonged to the Teplitz domain.
• Nové Dvory ( Neuhof ) belonged to Úpořin in the middle of the 18th century.
• Světice ( Zwettnitz ), which originally belonged to the Lords of Riesenburg . First mentioned in writing in 1383
• Úpořiny ( Auperschin ) was first mentioned in 1412, from 1590 it belonged to Teplitz.

Basic settlement units are Bystřany, Na Lišce, Nechvalice, Nové Bystřany ( New Wisterschan ), Nové Dvory, Nové Úpořiny ( New Auperschin ), Průmyslový obvod Bystřany, Světice and Úpořiny. The municipality is divided into the cadastral districts of Bystřany, Bystřany-Světice and Nechvalice u Bystřan.
