Jan Tadeusz Tombiński (born October 4, 1958 in Krakow ) is a Polish diplomat.

Tombiński studied German and history. He was a lecturer in history in Krakow. In 1978 he became Polish vice-champion in foil fencing.

He was Polish Ambassador to France (2001–2007) and Permanent Representative of Poland to the EU (2007–2012). Since September 2012, he was Ambassador of the European Union in Ukraine and since 10 October 2016 European Union Ambassador to the Holy See.

Tombiński speaks English, German, French, Slovenian, Czech and Ukrainian. He is married and has ten children.
