Jan Umlauft (born February 8, 1987 in Augsburg ) is a former German national volleyball player .
Career
Jan Umlauft started his career in Friedberg . Until 2006 he played with VCO Kempfenhausen . With the junior national team, he was tenth at the 2005 European Championships and ninth at the 2006 European Championships. He then completed a season with the VC Olympia Berlin youth team . From there he moved in 2007 to the Bundesliga club evivo Düren . Just one year later, he was appointed to the senior national team. In the 2008/09 season Jan Umlauft played because of his studies in Montpellier, in 2009 he switched back to evivo Düren. In 2010 Jan Umlauft ended his volleyball career at the age of 23 in order to concentrate fully on his studies.
