Jan Uphues

Jan Uphues (born December 17, 1987 in Münster ) is a German football official . He has been team manager at the second division football team Holstein Kiel since June 2018 .

Career

Education

In 2015 Uphues completed his studies in business administration at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel with a Master of Science. Uphues had previously completed his bachelor's degree at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster.

coach

During his studies, Uphues already worked as a youth soccer coach at SC Preußen Münster (2009–2012) and Holstein Kiel (2012–2015). After completing his studies, he was employed at the Holstein Kiel youth training center, where he trained the U16 juniors from 2015 to 2018. In the summer of 2018 he won the state championship with the team and made it to the regional league.

Football official

In the summer of 2018, Uphues ended his coaching activity to take over the newly created position of team manager for the licensed team under sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth. After Wohlgemuth was released in October 2019, Uphues remained in this role under his successor Uwe Stöver .
