Jan Verkolje
Johannes Verkolje (born February 9, 1650 in Amsterdam , † before May 8, 1693 in Delft ) was a Dutch painter and etcher .
Verkolje was a student of Jan Lievens (1607–1674). He has painted portraits, mythological and moral pictures, of which The Music Making Society (in the Reichsmuseum in Amsterdam) and The Temptation (in the Dresden gallery) are the most outstanding.
His son and student Nicolaas Verkolje (* 1673 in Delft; † 1746 in Amsterdam) also painted mythological and genre pictures in the manner of Gabriel Metsu .
