Jan Willem Hees (born February 18, 1913 in Hengelo , † May 12, 1989 in Hilversum ) was a Dutch naval officer and actor .

Hees began his career in 1931 as a midshipman in the Dutch Navy . a. with the later Prime Minister Piet de Jong .

When the director Ludwig Berger was looking for naval officers to act as actors for his film Ergens in Nederland (Somewhere in the Netherlands) at the beginning of 1940, he got in touch and was cast for a role as a trainer. The press was subsequently positive about his role due to his natural demeanor.

After the war, Hees was transferred to Surabaya , where he was, among other things, first officer in the Morokrembangan naval aviation camp . He ended his military career as a lieutenant captain .

Hees was best known for the role of Grandpa Flodder in the movie Flodder - A family to smooch . He took on smaller roles a. a. in the Dutch films Pervola, sporen in de sneeuw (Tracks in the snow, 1985), Abel (1986) and My father lives in Rio (Mijn Vader woont in Rio, 1986) .

In 1990 he was seen in a role in the television series De Brug (The Bridge) . However, he died before it was broadcast.

Hees had been married to Josta Johanna van Davelaar since 1948 and the couple had three children. He was buried in 's-Graveland . The role of Grandpa Flodder was taken over by Herman Passchier .
