Jana Hönig (born April 23, 1983 ) is a former German cross-country skier and archery biathlete .

Jana Hönig started in cross-country skiing for WSV Oberhof 05 and in archery biathlon for BSV Nünchritz . The former student of media, sports and event management is trained by Erhard Schneider. In 2001, she contested her first race in the Continental Cup in Schonach , and further races in this racing series and in FIS races followed. In Schonach she started in the Junior World Championship in 2002 and was 47th in the 15 km classic and 46th in the freestyle sprint. In 2003 Hönig made her only start in the cross-country world cup in Oberhof and finished ninth in the team sprint with Anja Krellner . She contested her last cross-country race on March 15, 2003 in La Clusaz , France , when she was 20th of 21 starters over five kilometers in a junior competition.

Hönig has been a member of the national archery biathlon squad since 2004. Here she celebrated her greatest international success when she won the bronze medal at the archery biathlon world championships 2005 in Forni Avoltri with her relay partner Viktoria Wurmer behind the representatives from Russia and Italy. Hönig started the race in first position as the starting runner and later in third position as the final runner, as the third German runner Evi Martlbauer was ill. She also finished eighth in the sprint and seventh in the pursuit and in the mass start. In the same year she took sixth places in the World Cup races in the sprint and in the pursuit in Mittenwald . She contested her last race in 2007 as part of the Italian championships.
