Jangaon is a city in the Indian state of Telangana .

The city is the capital of the Jangaon district . Jangaon has the status of a municipality . The city is divided into 6 wards . On the cut-off date of the 2011 census it had 52,394 inhabitants, of which 26,764 were men and 25,630 women . The literacy rate in 2011 was 82.4%, above the national average. Hindus make up the majority of the city's population with a share of around 86%. Muslims form a minority with a share of around 12%.

Jangaon was the second capital of the western Chalukya Empire in the 11th century . Near the city there are historical sites of Jainism .

Jangaon Railway Station provides rail links to the city and is owned by the Secunderabad Railway Division of the South Central Railway Zone. The line was built in 1879.
