Janna Ruth

Janna Ruth (born January 15, 1986 in Berlin ) is a German author , translator and lives in Wellington , New Zealand .

life and work

Janna Ruth studied Geological Sciences at the Free University of Berlin (graduation in 2008) and Geological Sciences at the University of Canterbury , Christchurch, New Zealand (graduation in 2012).

She mainly writes in the field of fantasy and science fiction. In 2016 she won the Ueberreuter Verlag's supersensual writing competition . Her debut Tanz der Feuerblüten was published there in 2017. In the same year, her self-publishing debut, Im Bann der ertanzten Schuhe , was released, with which she was awarded the Seraph Fantastikpreis in the category “Best Independent Title” in 2018 . In addition to novels, Janna Ruth has published numerous short stories in German and English in various anthologies and translated several novels from English.

Janna Ruth is a founding member of the Märchenspinnerei authors' collective and on the Wellington Branch of the New Zealand Society of Authors.
