Janos Belik

Janos Belik (* 1942 / 1943 ) is a former Hungarian basketball player , coach and -funktionär.

career

1968 Belik left Hungary for political reasons and came to the Bundesliga club MTV 1846 Gießen , with whom he was cup winner and runner-up in the season 68/69. After a year of play in Central Hesse, the development player moved to USC Munich in 1969, with whom he became German runner-up in 1971 under the direction of coach Laszlo Lakfalvi .

Belik stayed in Munich after the end of his competitive sports career. In 1987 he led the women of SG Munich as a coach to win the German Cup competition. Until 2014 he was chairman of München Basket, the successor to USC Munich, for 20 years. Until the end of March 2016, he headed the association's office. In August 2016, the home stadium Doppelhalle on Dachauerstraße was internally renamed Janos-Belik-Halle.
