Janos Count Pejacsevich

János Graf Pejacsevich (born February 3, 1915 in Alag ; † May 26, 1982 in Gießen ) was a Hungarian-German jockey and gallop trainer .

Life

Like his father Albert Pejacsevich (1875–1941) he was first a jockey and then a canter trainer. As an amateur rider, he has won 70 races. In 1938 he acquired a coaching license and trained among others Zakariás Aperianov, who is considered the most successful jockey in Hungary . During the Hungarian uprising he fled to Austria with some of his racehorses . In German racing he was generally known as " Der Graf ". In 1956 he looked after the horses of the Röttgen stud as a trainer .

successes

His greatest successes were the 1942 Hungarian Derby with Botton , in Austria the 1957 Derby with Utrillo , 1958 with Job and 1965 with Geck, and the German Derby with Uomo in 1959 . Since 1967 the Graf was a trainer on the horse racing track in Gelsenkirchen-Horst . He trained a total of 800 winners. He died at the age of 67 after a serious illness. His racing team there was continued by the successful amateur rider Helga Dewald.
