Jarabacoa is a place in the Dominican Republic and is located in the province of La Vega about 30 kilometers from the provincial capital of the same name, Concepción de la Vega . According to the 2002 census, around 56,000 people live in the village at an altitude of 525 m. Many wealthy Dominicans have settled here as the cooler climate is considered exotic.

Jarabacoa is also called Switzerland of the Dominican Republic because of its landscape.

Not far from Jarabacoa are the Saltos de Jimenoa and Saltos de Baiguate waterfalls .

Due to the altitude, there is a pleasant temperature all year round. Jarabacoa is the ideal starting point for a two- to three-day tour to Pico Duarte , the highest peak in the Caribbean at 3,098 meters .
