Jared Cohen (born November 24, 1981 in Weston , Connecticut .) Is an American political advisor and manager.

Life

Cohen studied history and political science at Stanford University and graduated in 2004 with a bachelor's degree. He then earned a Masters Degree in International Relations as a Rhodes Scholar from Oxford University .

Cohen completed an internship at the United States Department of State and became a member of the planning staff in 2006, which he continued to serve after the change of office from Condoleezza Rice to Hillary Clinton.

In September 2010 he left the government and moved to the foreign policy think tank Council on Foreign Relations . Shortly thereafter, Cohen became the founding director of Google Ideas .

In 2013 Time (magazine) portrayed him as one of the 100 most influential people.
