Jaresky ( Ukrainian Яреськи ; Russian Яреськи Jareski ) is a village in the center of the Ukrainian Poltava Oblast with about 4,000 inhabitants (2001).
The village, founded at the turn of the 14th to the 15th century, is located on the left bank of the Psel River 10 km downstream from the Shyshaky district center . Jaresky is located 115 km southeast of the Poltava Oblast center and has a train station on the Kiev – Poltava and Hrebinka – Poltava lines .
Jaresky is the administrative center of the district council of the same name in the west of Shyshaky Rajon , which also includes the villages
- Chwalky ( Хвальки , ⊙ ) with about 30 inhabitants,
- Buchuny ( Бухуни , ⊙ ) with about 310 inhabitants,
- Hontschari ( Гончарі , ⊙ ) with about 40 population,
- Nyschni Jaresky ( Нижні Яреськи , ⊙ ) with about 50 inhabitants and
- Sosniwka ( Соснівка , ⊙ ) with about 230 inhabitants belong.
