Jarno Pihlava
Jarno Pihlava (born May 14, 1979 in Raisio ) is a Finnish swimming athlete . His greatest success so far was the second place at the European Swimming Championships 2000 in Helsinki in the 100 m chest discipline.
Jarno Pihlava started swimming at the age of seven. Today he is a member of the "Raision Urheilijat" association and is trained by Jarmo Rosama.
His greatest successes so far:
- 9th place over 100 m breaststroke at the European Junior Championships in Copenhagen 1996
- 5th place with the 4 × 50 m layer relay at the European Short Course Championships in Lisbon 1999
- 2nd place over 100 m breaststroke at the European Swimming Championships in Helsinki 2000
- 11th place over 100 m breaststroke at the Olympic Games in Sydney 2000
- 16th place over 100 m chest at the 2001 World Swimming Championships in Fukuoka
- 4th place over 100 m chest and 5th place over 200 m chest at the European Swimming Championships in Berlin 2002
- 13th place over 100 m breaststroke at the Olympic Games in Athens 2004
