Jasienica Rosielna (until 1926 Jasienica ) is a village in the powiat Brzozowski of the Subcarpathian Voivodeship in Poland . It is the seat of the rural community of the same name with a little over 7800 inhabitants.

The place is on the brook Rosielna in the Dynower foothills ( Pogórze Dynowskie ).

history

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1420. The name derives from the ash trees (Polish jesion), the adjective Rosielna , after the stream of the same name, was added in 1926. In 1727 he received from King August II. The Magdeburg Law (lost in 1918).

During the first partition of Poland in 1772, Blizne became part of the new Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria of the Habsburg Empire (from 1804).

In 1900 Jasienica had 369 houses with 2302 inhabitants, all of them Polish-speaking, 1756 Roman Catholic, 546 Jews.

In 1918, after the end of the First World War and the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, Jasienica came to Poland. This was only interrupted by the occupation of Poland by the Wehrmacht in World War II . Around 600 Jews lived in Jasienica Rosielna until the Second World War. In June 1942 the Jewish ghetto was created , where the Jews were later killed by the Germans.

From 1975 to 1998 Jasienica Rosielna was part of the Krosno Voivodeship .
