Jason Mariano Kouchak is a (song) composer, singer and pianist. He performs publicly around the world and gives charity concerts in the UK , France , Japan , Singapore and Hong Kong , among others .

Jason Mariano Kouchak was born in Lyon , France. In his youth he attended Westminster School and then studied classical music at the Royal College of Music and Edinburgh University . He is a descendant of the Russian naval commander Alexander Wassiljewitsch Kolchak .

Career

Jason Kouchak has produced five albums, two of which were recorded at Abbey Road Studios . He had appearances with his own works on the BBC and the Japanese broadcaster NHK. He has performed his music worldwide, including in Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Paris ( Salle Pleyel ), St. Petersburg ( Mariinsky Theater ) and in London ( Royal Festival Hall ).

Other performances by Jason Kouchak: The Moon represents my Heart , arranged for Julian Lloyd Webber and Jiaxing Cheng and performed at the Chelsea Arts Club in celebration of Lloyd Webber's 60th birthday. Another performance in 2010 was Chopin's Bicentennial Guildhall Concert with singer and actress Elaine Paige . In Paris, he sang in a cabaret performance at the Café de Paris and Café Royal. In 2012 Kouchak played with Tom Stoppard at the Galle Literary Festival. In the same year he played a piano concerto for the opening of the London Chess Classic . In 2017 Kouchak was appointed Music Director of the 20th French Film Festival UK in London and Edinburgh.

Special appearances

In 1990 Jason Kouchak was a guest artist on Princess Margaret's 60th birthday . In 1998 Kouchak performed his interpretation of Sakura for Emperor Akihito in the Victoria and Albert Museum (London). In 1995 he played at a Kobe earthquake charity event. The piece was recorded with Julian Lloyd Webber for his album Cello Moods and presented by Olympian Yuka Satō (ice skater). On Victory Day, Kouchak performed the Russian song Dark is the Night with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (2011/2013) at HMS Belfast. In March 2015 he performed the play Scheherazade on the occasion of the official opening ceremony of the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature .

social commitment

Jason Kouchak's social initiatives consist of two large chess courts for children. One, opened in 2010, is in Holland Park London, the other in Meadows Park Edinburgh. He composed the chess charity song Moving Forward for CSC. In 2011 Kouchak founded the Tsubasa Children's Choir , which opened the Matsuri Festival. For the Queen's jubilee in 2012, he performed Jupiter from Holst's suite The Planets in Trafalgar Square , London .
