Jasso (Hidalgo)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jasso is a small town in the Atotonilco region in the Mexican state of Hidalgo, which is dominated by several large cement factories (such as Tolteca) . In principle, the place owes its existence to the cement factory Cemento Cruz Azul SA, which is located here, and has been officially called Ciudad Cooperativa Cruz Azul since January 16, 1968 .

On May 22, 1927, workers from the cement factory set up the CD Cruz Azul sports club here . Its successful soccer team was shipped to Mexico City just a few years after its promotion to the Mexican Primera División in 1964 in order to open up a larger audience.

However, the workers and residents of the Atotonilco region do not have to do without big football, because the local Estadio 10 de diciembre has always been home to some of the youth teams of the big CD Cruz Azul. His current best farm team plays under the name CD Cruz Azul Hidalgo in the second division .
