The Jauntalbrücke is a railway bridge over the Drau in the Jauntal . The Jauntalbrücke is located in the municipality of Ruden in Carinthia . The Jauntalbahn runs over it on the connection between Bleiburg and St. Paul .
With a height of 96 m, the Jauntal Bridge spans the Drau over a length of 429 m, making it one of the highest railway bridges in Austria. It has also been known nationwide since 1991 because of its use as a platform for bungee jumping . According to the bungee jumping provider, there were more than 40,000 jumps between 1991 and 2016. The Jauntalbrücke was built between 1959 and 1962 and inaugurated and put into operation in 1964 as a single-track railway line.
