Ina Reni Alexandrow (short: Ina Reni ) is a German - Bulgarian singer-songwriter and web video producer . She is also known as a singer by the stage name Peachy.

Life

Alexandrow has Bulgarian and German roots and grew up in Berlin . At a young age she learned to play the accordion and piano . She started writing songs at the age of 14. She later moved to London to study at the London School of Economics and Political Science . In 2015 she did her Master of Science in the course " Organizational Behavior ".

Musical career

In 2011 she released her debut single as Ina Reni with Sagittarius on the independent label Ideedeluxe Records. The production was done by the Cologne producer Levent Canseven.

On May 25, 2016, I Thought You Were Gay was her second official single, which she distributed herself. Reni also directs the accompanying music video. Only after a year and a half did her third single, Tiffany , follow . For this she was able to win the company Ocean View Distribution for sales. Another single followed with Peachy , which was also distributed by Ocean View Distribution. Two months later, Reni's first Extended Play, Down to Mars, was released on March 8, 2018. This includes all three previous single releases as well as the songs All That Ice and Down to Mars . Her debut single I Thought You Were Gay is not in the original version, but in a remix by JTRX.

In early 2019, Alexandrow wrote the song Riddle for the Lithuanian singer Emilija Gogolytė , who took part in the Lithuanian preliminary decision for the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest . In the second round of the first round, Gogolytė finished second, which she qualified for the semifinals. In the first semi-final she only finished fifth and just barely dropped out of the competition. For the finals, a place among the top four would have been necessary. Shortly after trying to participate in the ESC, Reni worked with the German pop singer Adel Tawil , with whom she recorded the song Tu m'appelles under the pseudonym "Peachy" . The single was released on April 12, 2019 from Tawil's third studio album Alles Leben . At first, the single struggled and missed the charts in German-speaking countries. On May 19, 2019, however, it made the leap into the Swiss charts , where the single was placed for several weeks and recorded its highest rating at position 30. In Germany, Tu m'appelles made it to position 48 in the official German single charts .
