Javier Barba
Javier Barba (born March 30, 1943 in Juanacatlán , Jalisco ), full name Javier Barba Cortés , is a former Mexican football player who was mostly used in attacking midfield and occasionally in attack . His brothers Carlos, Leonardo and Salvador were also professional soccer players and his brother Leopoldo , born in 1941, was a five-time national player in 1969 .
Life
Javier Barba emerged from the junior division of Club Deportivo Guadalajara , where he received his first professional contract in 1962 and immediately became a regular on his team.
Between 1962 and 1964, he played the Mexican Supercup final three times in a row and even scored two goals in these games: in 1963 the only goal of his team in the 3-1 defeat against city rivals Club Deportivo Oro and in 1964 the important 1-0 lead in a 2-0 win against arch-rivals America .
