The Jawa 50 type 555 was a model of the Pionýr series, which was produced by Jawa in Bystrica . She was a disguised moped with two-stroke - single cylinder engine . Sometimes it was delivered with a knee plate and running boards. The first Pionýr - Type 550 was produced from 1955 and was replaced in 1958 by the Type 555, which was produced in a number of 327,323 until 1963, before the two-seater successor type 05 appeared in 1962 . The Jawa 555 was exported to the GDR , among others .

The Jawa 555 was presented in the GDR at the Leipzig spring fair in 1958. New Pionýr
In 2006, the Pionýr 555 was re-released in a retro version limited to 555 copies in an almost unchanged external form. The Retro-Pionýr was also produced in series as a two-seater and some visual changes. A version with 125 cm³ was even derived from it.
