Jawad Al-Khoei
Seyyed Jawad Al-Khoei ( Arabic جواد الخوئي Javad al-Chui ; born December 1980 in Najaf , Iraq ) is a Shiite clergyman. He is the Secretary General of the International al-Chui Foundation , based in London . He studied Shiite Islamic theology at Al-Kadhem University in Qom , Iran . He is a grandson of Abu l-Qasim al-Choei , one of the most influential Grand Ayatollahs in the Shiite world. His father and several family members were murdered by the Iraqi Baath regime in 1994.
He was one of the 138 signatories of the open letter a common word between us and you ( Engl. A Common Word Between Us and You ), the personalities of Islam to "leaders of Christian churches everywhere" (English: Leaders of Christian Churches, everywhere ... ) sent (October 13, 2007).
