Jean-Baptiste Pater (born December 29, 1695 in Valenciennes , † July 25, 1736 in Paris ) was a French painter.

He was a student of Antoine Watteau and was accepted into the Académie in 1728. His most prominent customer was Frederick the Great, who owned two pictures of him in the style of the Turquerie : Le Sultan au Harem and Le Sultan au Jardin .
