Jean-Baptiste Tuby
Jean-Baptiste Tuby originally Giambattista Tubi (* 1635 in Rome , † August 9, 1700 in Paris ) was a French sculptor of Italian origin.
Tuby came to Paris around 1660, worked under the direction of Charles Le Brun in the Manufacture des Gobelins . He worked with Antoine Coysevox on the tomb of Cardinal Mazarin . For Jean-Baptiste Colbert he designed the statue of winter in the Parc de Sceaux , which is now in the Jardin du Luxembourg .
Tuby was a sculptor preferred by Louis XIV and was allowed to work a lot in Versailles . In 1672 he received French citizenship.
