Jean-Claude Bagot

Jean-Claude Bagot (born March 9, 1958 in Saint-Hilaire-du-Harcouët , France) is a former French cyclist .

Athletic career

His first major successes as an amateur were stage wins on the Route de France in 1981 and 1982. Bagot was a professional from 1983 to 1994 . During this time he won the Mediterranean Tour in 1984 and one stage each from Paris-Nice in 1987 . At the Setmana Catalana de Ciclisme stage race , he finished second overall in 1986. In the same year he also won the bronze medal at the French road championships. In 1987 he was able to win a stage of the Giro d'Italia (he was 25th overall). He achieved his best placement at a Grand Tours with ninth place in the Vuelta a España in 1989 . Bagot had nine starts in the Tour de France, nineteen in 1986 was his best place. He celebrated his last victory as a professional driver in 1988 at the Prix du Havre.

He ended his career as an active player after the 1995 season with the Festina-Lotus team .
