Jean-Louis Roumégas (born June 6, 1962 in Algiers ) is a French politician . He was a member of the National Assembly from 2012 to 2017 .

Roumégas initially worked as a teacher and school director. For the green party Les Verts he managed to move into the city council of Montpellier , where he became chairman of the green parliamentary group in 2008. He was also the city's deputy mayor from 2001 to 2008. From 2008 to 2011 he was the national spokesman for the Greens, which were renamed Europe Écologie-Les Verts in 2010 . In the 2012 parliamentary elections , he ran in the first constituency of the Hérault department . In the first round he was extremely close behind Christian Jeanjean ( UMP ), who had already been a member of parliament from 2002 to 2007. In the second round, Roumégas came to 50.1% and thus achieved a lead of 88 votes over Jeanjean. He complained against the outcome of the election at the Conseil constitutionnel , which declared the election of Roumégas in October 2012 to be legal. In the 2017 parliamentary elections , Roumégas only received 10.7% of the vote in the first ballot and was therefore not present in the second ballot, which Patricia Mirallès ( LREM ) won against France Jamet ( FN ).
