Jean-Louis Tripp (born February 4, 1958 in Montauban ) is a French comic artist .

life and work

Tripp published his first comic in Métal hurlant in 1977 . He drew his first comic album Le Boeuf n'était pas mode in 1978. Other albums such as Le pari and Der Aufstand followed over the next ten years , together with Marc Barcelo, who designed the scenario in each case . In addition, he released four albums in the series An Adventure by Jacques Gallard , which appeared from 1983 to 1989.

Between 1989 and 2002 Tripp devoted himself to painting and sculpture. In 2003 he became professor at the University of Québec , Campus Université du Québec en Outaouais in Gatineau , succeeding Edmond Baudoin .

From 2006 he published the series Das Nest together with Régis Loisel . The six volumes published so far describe the life of the inhabitants of the fictional village of Notre Dame du Lac in Quebec during the 1920s.
