Jean-Luc Warsmann (born October 22, 1965 in Villers-Semeuse , Ardennes department ) is a French politician . He has been a member of the National Assembly since 1995 .

Warsmann studied first law and then political science at the Institut d'études politiques de Paris . In 1989 he moved to the town council of the small community of Douzy and was elected mayor in 1995. In the parliamentary elections in 1993 he stood in for Claude Vissac , who was elected to the National Assembly in the third constituency of the Ardennes department. After his death in December 1995, Warsmann moved up for him in the National Assembly and joined the RPR there. He was re-elected in 1997, 2002, 2007 and 2012. He has been a member of the UMP since 2002 .
