The site of Douzy

Douzy is a French commune with 2,167 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Ardennes in the Région Grand Est . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Sedan and the Canton of Carignan . The inhabitants call themselves Douzynois .

The municipality was created with effect from September 15, 2015 as the Commune nouvelle of the same name through the amalgamation of the formerly independent municipalities Mairy and Douzy , which have since had the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are in Douzy.

The community is about eight kilometers southeast of Sedan . Neighboring communities are:

Douzy is located on the right bank of the Chiers River , which flows into the Meuse a few kilometers further .

Transport links

Douzy is crossed by the European route 44 , which leads in this section from Sedan to Montmédy . At the same time there is also a railway line that has no stop in Douzy. The small Aérodrome de Sedan-Douzy airfield is also located here .
