Francheval is a French municipality with 609 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Ardennes in the Région Grand Est . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Sedan and the canton Sedan-3 (until 2015: canton Sedan-Est ). The inhabitants are called Franchevalois .

Francheval is about eight kilometers east of Sedan on the border with Belgium . Francheval is surrounded by the neighboring communities
