Career

Poirot made his international debut at the Four Hills Tournament in 1963/64 . Although he only competed in the two competitions in Oberstdorf and Innsbruck and did not jump into the top 70, he finished the tour in 67th place overall. In the following Four Hills Tournament in 1964/65 he even jumped only the jumping in Oberstdorf and ranked 52 on the Schattenbergschanze . This put him in 52nd place overall, which was his best overall result of his career.

At the Four Hills Tournament in 1965/66 , he achieved the best individual tour result of his active career with 51st place on the Great Olympic Hill in Garmisch-Partenkirchen . He finished the tour after further weak performances as in 1963/64 in 67th place. Despite these rather poor performances, he was part of the squad for the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo in 1966 . From the normal hill he landed on the 52nd place after jumps on 68 and 64 meters. Shortly before he had jumped from the large hill to 53rd place with 67.5 and 62.5 meters.

At the Four Hills Tournament 1966/67 Poirot competed in all four jumping competitions for the first time. However, he did not make the breakthrough again. After ranking 57th in the overall ranking, he competed in his last international competitions in the following Four Hills Tournament in 1967/68 and after three competitions he finished the tour 64th overall.
