Jean-Michel Van Schouwburg

Jean-Michel Van Schouwburg (* 1955 ) is a Belgian improvisation musician ( vocals ).

Live and act

Van Schouwburg worked for several years with the Brussels formation Collectif Inaudible , initially as a musician on various instruments, before focusing on vocal improvisation and singing techniques from 1996 on. He describes his singing style as Word Phonoetry / Phonésie , which can be heard on his solo album Orynx - Phonésie, which he composed between 1997 and 2004 . As a soloist he performed a. a. in London, Lille, Liège, Brussels and Slovakia. He also worked with Guy Strale , Kris Vanderstraeten , Adelheid Sieuw and Jan-Huib Nas , currently with the formations Sureau (with Kris Vanderstraeten and Jean Demey), in a duo with Marjolaine Charbin and with Audrey Lauro , in Garden Gift (with Jean Demey , John Russell , Adelheid Sieuw) and MouthWind (with Lawrence Casserley ), also with Paul Hubweber , Dario Palermo . In the field of jazz he was involved in four recording sessions between 2006 and 2008.
