Jean-Pierre Dupuy

Jean-Pierre Dupuy (born February 20, 1941 in Paris ) is a French engineer , epistemologist and philosopher .

Life

Dupuy trained as a polytechnician and mining engineer . He is a French professor and researcher at the Center d'Étude du Langage et de l'Information (CSLI) at Stanford University . Until 2006 he taught social philosophy , political philosophy and scientific ethics at the École polytechnique . He also conducts research at the Center national de la recherche scientifique .

Dupuy is a member of the Académie des technologies and the Académie catholique de France .
