Jean-Pierre Lacroix
Jean-Pierre Lacroix (born May 2, 1960 ) is a French diplomat who has been Head of the Peacekeeping Operations Department at the United Nations since 2017 .
education
Lacroix graduated Bachelor -Studiengänge at l'ESSEC Business School (ESSEC) and Sciences Po in Paris , acquired Master diplomas in political science and law , and was in 1988 at the School of Administration de (ENA) in the class, "Michel Montaigne ».
Career
Lacroix initially worked in the French embassies in Prague and Washington. From 1993 to 1995 he was an advisor to Prime Minister Édouard Balladur's cabinet . From 2002 to 2006 he was Deputy Director of the Department for the United Nations and Other International Organizations (NUOI) in the French Foreign Ministry . In 2006 he became Permanent Representative of France to the United Nations in New York and held this office until 2009. Lacroix was the French ambassador to Sweden from 2011 until he took over the management of the NUOI department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2014.
On February 14, 2017, Jean-Pierre Lacroix was appointed Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations by UN Secretary-General António Guterres and, as the successor to Hervé Ladsous, he was entrusted with the management of the Peacekeeping Operations Department.

Lacroix is a member of the International Gender Champions (IGC) network, which advocates gender equality in international organizations.
