Jean-Pierre Monnier

Jean-Pierre Monnier (born December 20, 1921 in Saint-Imier , † November 29, 1997 in Epautheyres ) was a French-speaking Swiss writer .

Life

Jean-Pierre Monnier studied in Neuchâtel and Bern . For around 40 years he taught French literature at the Ecole supérieure de commerce and at the grammar school in Neuchâtel. His first three books were published by a Paris publisher, the later by Swiss publishers. His story Relief (original title: L'Allégement , 1975) was filmed in 1983 by Marcel Schüpbach.

In his private life he was married to the writer Monique Laederach from 1961 to 1973 , and from 1975 to Françoise Quillet (one son).
