Werner Bucher

Werner Bucher (born August 19, 1938 in Zurich ; † January 15, 2019 in Heiden AR ) was a Swiss writer , editor and publisher .

Life

Werner Bucher initially worked as a sports journalist and culture editor. In 1974 he made his debut with the volume of poetry Not such fears, you . In the same year he founded the quarterly literary magazine orte and in 1976 orte publishing house , which publishes contemporary poetry and prose as well as detective novels . The main focus of the literary program is the promotion of literary talent and the organization of literary festivals (currently the “Appenzeller Literature Days” in Wald ). Werner Bucher published a novel and a number of detective novels under the pseudonym "Jon Durschei".

Werner Bucher lived and hosted with his wife Irene on the Rütegg in Oberegg in the Appenzellerland . He was a member of the Swiss Writers' Association .
