Status: end of career

Jean-Sébastien Jaurès (born September 30, 1977 in Tours ) is a former French football player on the position of a defender .

The defender, whose ancestors come from Réunion , came to AJ Auxerre in 1991 from the youth of FC Tours and began his professional career there in the 1995/96 season. For the 2008/09 season he moved to Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach on a free transfer . Due to persistent knee problems, Jaurès did not come to Borussia in the 2010/2011 season, so his contract, which ran until June 30, 2011, was not extended.

In his first professional season he was French champion , but had not recorded a single game in Division 1 . In the same year he won the European Championship with the French U-19 national team. In 2003 and 2005 he won the French national cup twice with Auxerre ; unlike in 2003, it was also used in the final in 2005 (2: 1 a.s. over the CS Sedan ).

At the end of March 2011, Jaurés announced his retirement at the end of the 2010/11 season after constantly struggling with knee injuries.
