Jean Achille Deville
Jean Achille Deville (* 1789 in Paris ; † January 10, 1875 there ) was a French scholar .
Deville had worked as a tax clerk in Rouen from 1827 and later became director of the local museum of antiquity . Among other things, he wrote a history of the Abbey of Saint Georges de Bocherville (Rouen 1827), the Château-Gaillard (Rouen 1829), the castle and lords of Tancarville (Rouen 1834) and the Arques Castle (Paris 1839).
He also wrote a volume on the tombs of the cathedral in Rouen (Rouen 1833) and on the builders of the cathedral in Rouen up to the end of the 16th century (1848).
