Jean Anderson (actress)
Mary Jean Heriot Anderson (born December 12, 1907 in Eastbourne , East Sussex , United Kingdom , † April 1, 2001 in Edenhall , Cumbria , United Kingdom) was a British actress of Scottish origin. She is best known to British audiences from the BBC drama The Brothers (1972-1976). She had other series appearances in Tenko , as well as smaller roles in Miss Marple and Paul Temple, among others .

Jean Anderson grew up in a Scottish drapery family in Guildford and studied at the Royal Academy of Arts . She was married to theater director Peter Powell from 1934 to 1949. The marriage produced a daughter, Aude Powell.
